Hi every one,
I heard that Medicaid in Massachusetts cover ABA therapy at home.
We want to move from Illinois. Can any one tell me if what we heard is right?
If so how many hours it will cover?
Any advice will help us.
Thank you.
I don't have the exact amount to qualify but I can tell you my income is 40k a year and both my children have it. The more the family makes the less the children get but the lowest the usually go down to is around $300 from what I know. My children get between 600-700 a month depending on if I have any extra coming in for bonuses.
They do cover it but the actual hours are determined by what the child needs and what the therapist proves they need. Medicaid stays with the child so the age makes no difference, once you qualify you keep it. There are some income regulations involved so you have to be aware of that.
Mass Medicaid is called Mass Health and it is the best Medicaid in the country by far. I work in the medical equipment Buisiness so I can tell you this is true.
I would also suggest applying for SSI as well it does help. SSI does require medical justification as well as financial justification so they take family income into consideration.
I believe they cover older kids too. We live in Milford.
Yes they do😀 The Place we got ABA early intervention from was up to 25 hours/week. I'm not sure if they're all like that or if they differ.
Medicaid covers ABA therapy up to a certain age . The above post is referencing SSDI payments , totally unrelated to Medicaid insurance . Hope this clarifies things .
