I am looking for doctors in the Gainesville, GA area or within 50 miles who treat children and diagnose children with Autism. The doctor needs to be able to prescribe medications. We are looking to move to the area but want to secure a doctor before moving as 2 of our children are on medications.

Thank you for the information. Is there quite a few Psychiatrists in that area that deal with Autism? The reason I'm asking is there are a lot of Psychiatrists in the Richmond, VA area but very few that deal with Autism. We get a lot of fun around. Very frustrating.

My daughter went to the Marcus Autism Center in Atlanta for her DX but there should be someplace closer as it's a little over 50 miles away from Gainesville. The place gets all the referrals in the region and we felt like a number in that place but I'd think you are looking for a psychiatrist to prescribe the meds.
