Help my ex wont give my son his meds on the weekends or vacation time he has him. so my son goes days without it and comes home more upset and violent with his sisters and me. I have try to talk to his father about making sure that he gets it but got told that he can give it to himself which the doctor says no because of where he is on the spectrum. we just moved back from a long stay in the middle east and our son is autistic with ID and he is now 25 years old. we live in virginia now and looking for any program that can help us place him even if it is a private as all the state funded has a long waiting list. so we can pay for his placement until such time we get the waiver approval. please help us if you you have a name or a resource of a consultant to guide us through

How do u know if your child needs ABA?

So, I saw this add for a program for our kids that claims 100% positive results. Apparently, it is tailored to each individual child to take specific steps to improve their behavior, diets, social skills, etc. without the use of ABA. My son is a 25 autistic with aggression and destructive behavior please help

We have been going back and forth. With our 25 year old son who is autistic, with aggressive behaviors. He was on respiradone and the doctor changed it to invega which worked for the first 7 days and then all hell broke loose whe. He started to become so hyperactive and was eating until he vomits. My daughter and 2 of her classmates will soon "age-out" of our state's education program for special needs children. They have "behaviors" that will prevent them from obtaining and keeping a job. There are also no affordable facilities or programs for young adults in our area. As a group we would like to develop a program similar to the one they have at school but lack the funds. Is anyone else having a hard time making friends with other autism parents in their area? I attend a lot of autism meetings and programs and its so hard to connect with other parents. I try to reach out but it's hard for some reason. Are we really that closed off due to our circumstances that we can't create bonds and sometimes come across stand-offish?It would be nice to talk to local parents but after 7 yrs, I have no friends in my circle that truly understand my life.

What do you encourage for independent play. Be have drawing and puzzles down but can't seem to find anything else she'll take interest in. She's almost 3 and electronics are not an option at this time.

I'm curious how many other families have had social services called and if so how many times? Obviously feel free not to answer.
