I think it is important to get meds like this from a specialist who only prescribes this type of medication. They looked at all the meds the child takes. I have one child that takes Adderall , and he cant live without it. He is a very talented writer with extreme ADHD. I had another child (PDD-NOS) who took Strattera for years and it made her suicidal. She has done much better without any meds. This is why I recommend a specialist be in charge of the meds. There are so many different kinds of ADD meds.

We did adder all for a few months worked slightly, but dr would not do long lasting so after trying different dose schedules and stil seeing increase in agitation when wearing off we stopped it... Later tried focalin xr which worked really well until insurance refused to pay... Now my boy is on Ritalin cr (generic version) and has been for 2 yrs about and it helps a lot with impulse control and some attention , not cute/fix but helps for sure

Both Adderall and concerta were very bad for G. They caused him to have uncontrollable anger. He cannot take any stimulants.

My son had bad side effects while on Adderall. Lots of tics, weight loss, picking at skin til it bled in multiple places. It minimized some of his bigger movements, but made his ritualistic behavior worse. We had to keep adding on to his dose to the point where insurance didn't want to cover it anymore

Yes worked well for a while and then my 7yo became increasingly angry so we switched to Vyvanse
