If you could live anywhere in Long Island for a preschool for a newly diagnosed 3 yr old autistic child where would you go (level 2; she is verbal, has a lot of social anxiety, SPD, separation anxiety and self-regulation is tough)?
Does anyone out there know of a Long Island preschool (special needs or otherwise) that uses the dloortime/DIR model or a mix of floortime/ABA? Does that exist?
Many thanks, we are new here and relocating to NY soon from Lima Peru.
Contact department of education and ask for an individual education plan or IEP If your child has been diagnosed and you have medical documents they will give child series of evaluations and develop plan for her and list of schools
Thank you-we are just trying to decide where to live at this point-we can't get Evals as we are not there yet.
