Hello, I wanted to see if anyone has tried the low carb low sugar diet (Ketogentic) diet for their child with ASD? My son is 11-years old on the heavy side of the scale. He doesn't drink soda, juice or eats sweets. It's mostly rice, pasta and snacks. I had stumbled upon this book at our local Costco called "The 30-Day Ketogenic Cleanse: Reset Your Metabolism with 160 Tasty Whole-Food Recipes & Meal Plans" by Marie Emmerich.

I could see being helpful for weight loss/ high cholesterol. But as a nurse, knowing that he is only 11, I would get a hold of a nutritionist first to make sure it is adjusted to his particular needs. Good luck!
