Sleeping Medicine
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone give their child with autism medicine to put them to sleep or to help them fall asleep? My daughter wakes up no later than 9am and still tends to go to sleep between 12am-3am.

our daughter, 12, has taken something to sleep since she was 3 yo. She stayed up 10 straight days without sleeping! She takes melatonin, clonidine and Zyrtech..all prescribed by the Dr

We use Zarbees Naturals Children's Sleep with Melatonin Supplement for both our boys too. Really helps. And you can buy it over the counter. It must taste really good because one of my sons always asks me to give an additional pill over his dose. (Of course, we don't give him the extra pill.)

Trazadone more gets them to sleep but it does keep them sleeping but it is stronger from the time you take it.
