Is it normal for an ASD child to hate their photo taken?

My 8 year old ASD son hate is picture taken and freaks out if he catches you or even seeing you trying.

Autistic people often don't have our personal autonomy and privacy respected. When people try to take pictures of us without our permission, for some of us, it can feel very intrusive and disrespectful. If someone tries to take a picture of me without my permission or shares a picture of me without my permission, I immediately begin to trust them less. The only way I can see this issue being resolved is if you always ask permission before taking your son's picture or sharing pictures of him with other people; if he has control over when his picture is taken and who pictures of him are shared with, he'll probably become more comfortable with being photographed over time.

@A MyAutismTeam Member My son also hates photos, he is 17. he refuses an ID or school photo. He did just get an ID made for the community college he is attending . I was very excited. He needs it to use the testing center, instead of taking tests in the class.
