Serenity
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Where does your serenity come from? Serenity for me comes when you trade expectations for acceptance. When you look at your journey and realize how much fulfillment you get from your loved ones and children that makes life worth grasping on and truly living.

I agree with what you described as serenity.
I think it is knowing that you are doing your best as a parent and a person in general.
To not worry about other people's judgements and follow your own path in life.
Most of all to be content with who you are and your qualities, to be happy and make people smile around you.
Don't ever look back with regrets because you didn't do, but instead actually do, even if it fails.

From knowing where we started our journey and looking at where we are today. I would have to say, my faith... my love for my Lord. I would be lost, if I knew he was not there for my children and I.

Just today I was at group counseling with my older daughter. We were having difficulty due to confict, miscommunication, and our divorce. I have to say, by me not allowing myself to view family traits she's learned from her father to interfere on my train of thought, ways of viewing her helped me express myself much more understanding. Which in return is helping her start to carry the need of my motherly love and guidance. As a matter of fact is reaching out more and more! Tonight, is the first night all summer she stayed over on her own, other than my weekends.
Plus I saw her go out shopping with Gabby up the mall and at Dicks sporting goods. That filled my heart!
With so many negative things going on in life, as everyone does, my children, or should I call them young ladies are definitely my source of serenity! ❤

I agree with what you said @A MyAutismTeam Member, letting go of expectations, social expectations, lifes typical measuring sticks, others's narrow thought processes/indifference, believing that people truly dont mean to be cruel harsh or ignorant, wearing your motherhood like a protective armour just like 'Batman' as such...
.chalking out the rude comments or gestures with knowing good deeds are coming and are worth more than double the negatives, knowing Ive been low before and will be low again and knowing the ups will come again and kick their asses!
From stopping and being thankful for that morning coffee (that takes me 2 hours to drink 😉)....looking around my house and knowing hard work put us here...that for every person who wronged me that 2 or 3 have righted me (even total strangers can be the most uplifting souls)
Knowing I have a face or persona that people will talk to, warm to, like or feel comfortable to share a story with.
Knowing that yes, no one ever told us this life was going to be easy and having a harder path than some, yet being born into a country where even in the most extreme circumstances we are still better off than those born into undeprivelidged lives....from getting my sons first diaper off and his cereal put down each day, this is when I really draw breath and know that serenity has gently tipped her cap at me and approved of my mamma bear skills and they day can go on from there!

Great qn.

Thank you 💎
