My preschool/kindergarten-aged children have numerous ASD traits, and I am convinced that they are on the spectrum. Is there any advantage to getting an official diagnosis?

The advantage: you'll get the services you need for your child. The con, your child will get labeled. But if they really need the help, get the diagnosis.

Definitely an advantage!! Services thy need and an IEP. Squeaky wheel gets the grease. You have to fight for everything. But you need the diagnosis first.
