We applied for SSI about 6 months ago. A month after that we did a phone interview , 2/3 months after that we were sent to their doctors.now I received a letter they want to do another phone interview re..our assets and income. Is this normal , does this mean we are almost approved?
Yes this is normal but if they deny you you can file for an appeal.
Not 100% positive my son is now 3 I knew sign of autsim around almost a year old he started early intervention around 2.5 years old therapy’s started April was told to wait to apply for ssi until got s full diagnostics evaluation done which was August 15th 2017 was told he has asd applied for ssi right after had to wait couple weeks for phone interview had the phone interview September 13th 2017 was told to send in all paperwork etc none of the doctors would send anything worst experience ever got a letter in the mail for dr appointment downtown with one of the specialists to decide if he qualifies for ssi turns out all the paperwork I sent in was more than enough information for them to make a decision they ended up canceling the appointment and made an appointment for me to go to ssi office sat there almost all day and he got accepted that day. I know cases are all different but it took me to get ssi for my son less than 6months some people have to wait just 3-6months just for a letter . I always called the caseworker they gave me to check in see any updates and ask any questions
Thanks so much
