Weighted Blanket Fabric
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question šŸ’

Does anyone have any insight into what fabric is preferable for a weighted blanket? My son has a hard time falling asleep, (tosses & turns or kicks his feet a lot) but usually stays asleep. I've seen blankets made of multiple materials and have 0 experience with this.

FunAndFunction.com sells weighted blankets that you add a cover. My son choose a fabric that is fuzzy like a stuff animal in black and white like a zebra. It is removable for washing. The actual weighted blanket part is not washable.

What ever the material is that stays cool when it's hot but keeps you warm when it's cold. I think people call it breathing material. I don't know, but I know I'd love it if I had one!!!!

My son is always hot, he loves soft blankets but will kick it off at night and wake up. His OT just recommended lycra sheets. They are cool in the summer and can't be kicked off. Plus they are easy to wash. There are other places that are cheaper than this link, just google lycra sheets. https://funandfunction.com/snuggle-sheet-3933.h...

Iā€™m no expert on fabrics but we have a weighted blanket in minky fabric. My daughter loves soft texture which is why I chose it.
