Visiting Developmental Pediatric?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi
I am very glad to find this group of parents. My son was diagnosed with high functioning autism last week and we are a little confused with what we should do. I made an appointment with gastroenterologist for him. Also are trying to find ABA Therapy for him in San Diego. My question is do we need to visit a Developmental pediatrician too? Is it a good idea to change his primary pediatrician to a dr with Developmental specialty? Any advice that helps us in san diego is very appreciated

Great job!!! Getting a Pediatric Developmental Specialist is very important with the entire developmental process going forward. I am a nurse in a pediatric office myself where my son attends also but our PDS has been so very very helpful with the correct medications and maneuvering around the school system in many different aspects. Keep pushing forward!!!
