A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi all. My 11 year old daughter got diagnosed with ASD just this past year (along with having been diagnosed with ADHD a few years ago. There really hasn't been a medication that truly has helped her. Definitely not the stimulants. She's been on Intuniv a couple of times and most recently on Strattera 18 MG, (She's been on and off Strattera a few different times in the past year and a half). I can absolutely relate to that sentiment. It’s still not 💯 but I’m not sure if there ever will be a complete control. Sometimes it’s so hard to cope & deal with the ever changing cycles of finding “something” that helps. Not to mention the emotional roller coaster when you just can’t fix it for them. I truly wish you the best with getting her more regulated & please keep us posted how things are going..(hugs)

Thank you for your response. Strattera is just OK for her. She does have anxiety so maybe the Prozac would help with that. I think we may have tried Focalin but I can’t remeber. I feel like we’ve tried so many.

Not sure how much this can help, but for my daughter (aged 11) the Straterra never worked for her symptoms! After trying multiple options, she is currently taking Abilify, prozac, and Focalin, and the differences have finally been noted in better control of her symptoms. I am not sure of your daughters specific situation, but thought to mention, just in case you want to explore these, and see if anything is worth suggesting to her Dr.? I hope you can find something soon to help her, and you have my empathy in the journey of trying to help your baby...;)
