My pediatrician told me years ago that NO pediatrician can say that your child has autism either use these 2 developmental pediatrician or a psychiatrist only 2 that can Truly diagnose and she was spot on. Hope it helps

Hello Davidlshmael, you are correct. Pediatricians do not diagnose autism and there is not a one basic test that confirms it; however, I am interested in a pediatrician that has experience working with children on the spectrum. Providers from a dentist, barber to a day care center can have the skill set, experience and patience working with children who are on the spectrum. My son has become aggressive and several times a basic physical has lead to removing all chairs in the examination room, running after him in the doctor's office and even the doctor experiencing some of his tantrums that one can get hit. So it is helpful when a person is experienced with a certain population and even can refer you to other resources.

DJskids hello, yes I actually went to the resource tab and entered my location and information to get some providers. Thank you for the suggestion. This forum has been overall helpful because everyone has a story to share that people would not understand unless you have experienced the journey. I am thankful for those who help motivate and inspire people we come in contact with, it makes a difference.
