Is occupational therapy most effective in a clinical environment?

Is occupational therapy most effective in a clinical environment?

My son receives OT at home and in clinic, and his OT is recommending we change to a clinic only program for increased effectiveness. I see OT type needs (fine and gross motor skills, self-help) that can be done at home (ie teaching to cut or draw or write can be done anywhere?)...where some of the swinging, jumping, etc. is great at the gym. The thinking being pitched is that more gym time will lead to progress in the fine/gross motor skills. What… read more
