My son has been on it for YEARS now. He’s 9 and is also prescribed by the Dr a full dose of children’s benedryl every night about 30 mins after his pill.

My son was on another alpha agonist ( Guafacine) similar to clonidine. He took it twice a day and it actually helped him with a few dosage adjustments. I recently discontinued it sadly because he developed a rash. Now back to the drawing board for another add on medication

Our doctor prescribed Clonidine for my 5+ yr old son. I am going to start it next week.

My twins are 6, they take it at bedtime

Actually, my son was on Guanfacine for 6 months but we did not see a big improvement. We wanted to try others. For a short period, he was without any medication. that time period he was very active and developed a lot of sensory issues.
