Join the facebook group TACA hope for autism, they know so so much and they will help you. What your kid has is Stomach issues related to candida, parrasites, and bacteria. Find a DR as soon as possible , but not conventional Dr. in the Taca group you will find suggestions for MAPS DR. those are the DRS who help our kiddos naturally. Do it soon or he will get worse and worse. Fix his diet also, is work but it means everything if you want peace for your family and him being independent enough. Hugs
Does he like to jump or any activity that get him tired, the more he is busy and distracted like jumping, walking and swimming, the easier time he will have time to sleep.
Sleep goes in spurts for us. And daily activities are a contributor. What does his day look like? For example my son would nap, and we had to nix them entirely. We also needed to lighten a few of his therapies, (w guidance from his dev ped), which also helped. And now the weather is better, fresh air and playing outside. We also take small or longer breaks from therapy (either to make a long weekend and just relax, or an entire week at a time.)
He also winds down by watching his favorite cartoons on phone, at very low volume, low light/warm night setting, etc. There was a period where he wouldn’t fall asleep until well after midnight and it was a vicious cycle. Not enough sleep meant cranky during the day and wanting a nap, nap equalled late night, etc. Does your son receive OT? They may have some insights from a sensory perspective too if that is playing a role at all.
