When applying for ssi for your little one did anyone have a hard time? Was it a neccesity to get a lawyer like an adult on disabilty would need?

It was not hard I did not need a law. He was approved very quickly.

When we lived in GA, we got Katie Becket Medicaid waiver. In order to get it we had to get letter from Social Security showing we weren't eligible for benefits. They lost our info at one point. I told the guy, "This seems strange to me because we need a letter telling us we don't get money". We didn't ask for money and it still was slow.

We didn't get a lawyer.
