We have also had great luck with Focalin. It really helps my son focus and concentrate while doing his schoolwork.

My son is on Focalin (15mg) and its going well. I give it to him once a day, it helps him so much with school and then wears off at about 5pm. I give it to him everyday because we have made it part of his daily routine. When he first started the medication I noticed his feelings were enhanced, it cleared up and now the only side effect he experiences is suppressed appetite. The way that I balance everything is that in the morning I give him his pill with pediasure and a balanced breakfast, for lunch I’ll give him something small like a sandwich or whatever because he’s not really hungry and then for dinner I serve him like an adult. He hasn’t lost any weight he’s actually gained a pound or two and is considered health and normal.

We have my son on Guanfacine. Half a pill in the am and the other half in the pm. Initial side effects made him very emotional, but that seems to have subsided. He's been on it for about a 2 months. His teachers and ABA therapists have all said they've noticed a difference in his concentration.
