Have Any Experience With Vocalizations With Every Action?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My 2 year old is not verbal at this point and makes a vocalization with each action - turning a page, stacking blocks, bouncing a ball, etc. Has anyone else experienced that?

Thanks! I worry that I am giving them too much visual stimulation since they can get really worked up, but then sometimes they are seeking and I try to do more full body movements. It is difficult for me to tell in these moments if they are enjoying it or are just overwhelmed and yelling to help process the sensory input. Sigh. It is so hard to know what to do sometimes!

Yeah my son is 8, non verbal with lots of noises!! He is very visually stimulated; maybe your 2 year old is also..the action/motion of the page turning, ball bouncing, blocks getting taller and taller... My son loves movement/watching things move and he is very vocal when he watches things or plays like that. Loud and happy :)

Thanks. It is kind of like a yell that can be very intense, like yelling while slamming the page of a book. I appreciate the suggestions!
