I’m Wondering Why My Son Likes To Watch Super Nanny Episodes? He Likes The Time Out Scenes.

I’m Wondering Why My Son Likes To Watch Super Nanny Episodes? He Likes The Time Out Scenes.

This happened a lot when he was elementary school (4th and 5th grade). His teacher told me about it, and she made sure he can only choose to use the iPad and watch YouTube on Fridays. She told him he can watch Disney, Nickelodeon, PBS Kids. I’m glad she gave him choices because we followed up at home. He hasn’t watched Super Nanny until recently. He’s a sophomore in high school now.

My daughter and I would watch Super Nanny and I'd wonder why she would like it so much. She told me she liked to see how she would help the parents out. She had great ideas that parents could learn from.So I'm thinking your son is trying to learn from this which isn't a bad thing. Maybe he wants to work w/ kids in the future ?

He is probably watching that episodes to avoid punishment. It actually reinforces his behavior and he is self disclipine. Positive Reinforcement.

Yes, I thought about that too. He was actually one of the well behaved ones compared to other classmates during his elementary school years. So when he was in 4th and 5th grade he took a big brother role and helped the younger students. He was also the teacher’s little helper.

I see why kids with autism are very smart. They are well behaved if they can watch Super Nanny and it could help them avoid meltdowns in the first place.
