My Son Is 17 With Autism And Over Yea Climb Even Onto Furniture And Off. He Recently Jumped Off The Banister. Help!
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I’ve tried trampoline, exercises, etc but he wants to jump off what he wants. Any suggestions? He seems to be seeking input in his feet and ankles. He’s even climbed into drawers and likes the feeling of the crunching wood. Anyone ever experience this? Every replacement doesn’t work

My son has the same sensory seeking behavior. He likes the flying feeling and pressure on his feet which he gets both from jumping off furniture. We have a trampoline and swing when he's seeking fast movement and pressure on his feet. I do have to watch him on the swing cause he'll jump off mid swing, but he gets that sensory input he's seeking. We have a big sized Lifetime swing for him to grow into. We also brush the bottom of his feet and take him swimming which helps cause he'll bump into the pool.

Yes he does but maybe he needs more. Even so, he seeks the input from jumping. What are you doing for your son? Thank you for your reply
