Adan used to run and scream and throw himself down to the ground on his knees when upset. He eventually stopped that and began hitting and scratching me when he's upset. Now that behavior has almost disappeared, but he has started screeching incredibly, painfully loud and piercing any time he is upset. I can relate to having meltdowns and hitting myself. I stopped with the help of my mom and with stopping a bad habit with lots of practice.
