Just need tips on potty training for non verbal autistic grand child who is going to be 4 soon. She has a potty seat and a seat in the toilet as well but is scared to sit on the big potty. Not quite sure how to get her to understand and w en if she does how she can tell us I’d she needs to go! This is all new to our family and we don’t know how to go about this issue but she needs to be out of diapers asap. Thank you
Yes. communication wise you can print photo of potty and when yall go take the picture then try get the little one to hand the picture.
Also can print clear photos of #1 & #2 in the toliet so they can make a choice which one. there a free app. called jabtalk and you can create buttons with pictures and voice recoreded to give the the little one a voice to tell an adult.what they need and may grow to use it independently.
My daughter's father potty trained her at the age of 5. We put her on the toilet every 15 minutes during the weekend. It's alot of hard work. Once she peed in the toilet when offered a reinforcement. You can start off taking your son every hour to sit on the toilet
