Dental For Adults With Autism
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I am looking for services for my adult son who is profoundly autistic. He is afraid of needles. The dental place said it takes a year and a half appointments for people who need to be sedated.Thats ridiculous. He is 29,6ft,200lbs.I don't know where to turn.I am in Illinois.

Thank you,I will surely look into it.It seems like when he was a child it was easier for him to get appointments sooner.

There are Dentists who Specialize in Children's Dental Needs and Children with Special Needs. I know he is not a Child but I think a Pediatric Dentist would be a much better choice to get him an Appointment to get Sedated and get worked on. Call a Pediatrics Dental Office and ask them if they have experience with Special Needs and if you can get an Appointment or if they can Refer you to someone that does. We had the same situation and I felt hopeless, but kept calling around and found someone who could get us in quick, and we had it done. We now have to get him a Dental Checkup again, so I'm hoping his mouth is problem free. I hope you find a Dentist to help soonπŸ’–
