She walks around asking for help and is apparently loud and disruptive in class. The teacher says that she’s accommodating all the students needs and that my daughter has more than enough time to accomplish tasks and to transition between tasks.
What I would do honestly if talking to the teacher and nothing else seems to help is call an IEP meeting and address this concerns if the teacher is accommodating all the students needs then maybe having an FBA do an evaluation on her ? Because if she’s being loud and disruptive in class that’s behavior but could also be sensory? Not an expert but certainly something to discuss.
We have an IEP in place for my son. When he is over stimulated he screams in class and hits anyone that comes near him. We were told we need to teach him to have a safe body. So they want me to teach the autism out of him? He is supposed to have a para with him at all times. Now they are telling me it is time to wean him off needing a para. The IEP says he is supposed to have a Para with him at all times. They insist on teaching him the tools to deal with his bad behavior. He is autistic. It’s not always a behavioral issue. Sometimes he doesn’t know what makes him do what he does. I wish they would just follow the agreed upon IEP and stop trying to fix my son.
the teacher told me the same thing last year and I continued to point to the IEP.
Ok that’s great keep posting on any updates
She has a 504 plan. She didn’t qualify for an IEP. I emailed the counselor asking for an FBA.
