Since the pandemic, one of the twin girls with autism would become extremely hot after taking her medication risperdone. I thought this was odd so I started watching her each and every time. She would get hot all over her body like she was having a fever. I did search online and have discovered that this is a common symptom of this medication. Has anyone else ever had this issue?
Laz has been taking this med for years and to my knowledge it's never had this side effects. Keep in mind that not everyone will experience the same side effects too just simply because of their own general make up or DNA. Not to mention Laz is always about sensory and sound so he keeps the fan on all year, he's never cared much for anything on his feet and he sleeps w/o a pj shirt so I can't really say if he does experience it or not.😏
That's interesting! None of my medications make me feel overheated, but I generally run on the warm side, anyway. I'm that girl you'll see walking around in the middle of winter in a t-shirt! 🤣 I've never taken risperidone, but I do take Abilify.
Now this is kinda funny because the other twin with autism does not like anything on her feet, keeps the fan on all year and sleeps with minimal amount of clothing on even when its actually cold outside.
Not with that med, but others yes and is usually a side affect.
