How Do You Handle Your Child Screaming?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My 7 year old daughter has been crying and screaming when we tell her that she can’t do something. She has to ask us before she can just get and use things. She gets so upset when we tell her “no” that she starts screaming and crying. So we ignore this behavior? I try to comfort her, but if this is about not getting what she wants instead of not being able to do something developmentally, then I think I need to ignore it. Right?

Do you have access to ABA therapy or a school behaviorist? For us, ABA therapy addresses all the behavior concerns like you described.
