My son likes string, comic books, a lot of kids like sensory lights. One thing I will say is if he doesn't like toys, don't stress too much or feel bad about it not being the typical Christmas experience.
I agree with Allison2, the typical Xmas experience is altered & it can cause us to stress about presents. Over the years we learn to adapt to our kids likes & dislikes. It’s often trial and error when buying toys. I found it’s often the simpler toys that entertain our kids. Light up, musical toys are usually big hits for my child. My son is obsessed with Mickey Mouse & friends so I can’t go wrong with anything Mickey Mouse related😉.
Does he have any interest in making music? A little keyboard or harmonica can be really great. :)
Maybe sensory items with Christmas theme? For Halloween my son's teacher gave her students popcorn and a ghost toy that lights up and glows in the dark when you shake it. There are a lot of fun things available on Amazon.com.
My son did like puzzles by Melissa and Doug at that age, they were a big hit.....
