Applying For IHSS In Ventura County
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello, hope all is well with everyone. I was wondering if anyone here has gone through the process to become the qualified caregiver through IHSS for a child with autism? Also, has anyone qualified for “Protective Supervision" of children with special needs? The americanaadvocacygroup.com, AAG, claims they can assist at every stage of this process. Does anyone know if they are legit?

I was denied several times. I applied in 2023 before April because the case worker that came to my house asked me if I wanted to withdraw my application because I wasn’t going to qualify. She said I didn’t qualify because I didn’t leave or worked a full time job. Some people that have gone through the process said thats a lie. A lady from my daughter’s school said I should have of appeal the case. I have 2 daughters on the spectrum. I currently only claim one of my daughters. I talked to the group you mentioned but they require a lot of payment, or so I read.

Did you read about "Protective Supervision" through IHSS? It says if your child is approved for Protective Supervision, you can receive financial help to stay home and care for your child.

I've done it, and you would benefit from it. Just go through their training and then you can take on additional clients if you want.
