Routine, visual schedule (PECS). What motivated my son to transition to bedtime was the “clean up song”. Clean up, clean up, everybody everywhere. Clean up, clean up, everybody do their share!” I used to sing that when I was a toddler teacher at Ames Childcare Center (NASA Ames Reasearch).

Now at 17 years old, he helps me clean up, sometimes without being reminded.

Routine, a shower or bath before bed. A lot of people use a low dose of melatonin.
