My son enjoys the piano. We got a piano for him. But when I took my son for lessons my son won't play the keys the instructor was playing. My son knows what each keys sounds like and will listen to any kind of music. Then go and play the song on the piano by listening to the song one or two times. For instance my son had listen to the Stanley steamer commercial 1 time and played it on the piano. The instructor had played a song for my son to watch the talent my son has to be able to play the song on the piano. So my husband and I decided to just our son play whatever songs on the piano of his choice. Every child is different. Some places might let you bring your child in to see if it would be beneficial for your child for free.

My son used to like playing the drums. Not so much anymore. Now, he would rather sing and dance! :)

Yes, there is a lady I met at the resource fair last night. They offer assessments to find out if your child is ready to play an instrument. For special needs students they offer group lessons.

I took private piano lessons when I was 7 years old until 10 years old. I would have signed him up earlier but he was a little hard to control back then. He is interested in the guitar.
