Yes, our son developed groin sensitivity around age four. He absolutely went crazy trying to wear pants with zippers or even thick seams. So he wore athletic pants and loose shorts until he ended 9th grade. He would often pinch his penis to make the feelings stop. As a teenager he wanted to fit in more with high schoolers so we bought softer chinos. He hates showering so that area is a constant concern with jock itch. Our guy played hockey, too. Finding the right cup was a challenge, but once he got it on and got out on the ice, he was fine. Bamboo underwear were a lifesaver. They are super soft.
Good luck!

As I said, showering due to sensory issues has exasperated his problem. He is still sensitive to zippers and tight pants…most days he is slouching around with his pants below his hips. We are hoping he will start habilitating support after graduation so he can learn some other socially acceptable ways of coping. As far as sensitivities go, they seem to come and go. Textures in everything from food to clothing will likely always be an issue. 🤗
