My son's teacher is saying that he isn't responsible when it comes to organizing / preparing himself for class and homework and she isn't going to babysit.

Hello! Ask the teacher if she is willing to allow you to do the schoolwork with him at home. Returning it later.

Iā€™m a third grade teacher. Daily behavior charts work well for students who are targeting a specific behavior goal. If it is in the IEP, the teacher has to abide by it. The resource teacher/counselor should be there to support as well. Find out what will motivate him and have him work towards small goals throughout the day related to responsibility. Best of luck.
