Hi everyone,

I saw that Trump recently mentioned Leucovorin for autism. I also read that over 50% of kids with autism may have FRα antibodies that block folate from reaching the brain.

We’re in Toronto and my daughter is 60 months old. She still doesn’t say “mom” or “dad,” and doesn’t respond to her name. Our pediatrician was part of a research team and said he doesn’t recommend Leucovorin, so we’re looking into U.S. options. FRAT testing also seems very hard to access here.

John I found this
The FRAT® test is a Folate Receptor Autoantibody test that is performed by a single lab, RELIGEN, INC., located at 5110 Campus Drive, Suite 120, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462, USA. To get the test, you need a prescription from a medical professional who can then order the FRAT® kit to be sent to you or a local blood-draw center for sample collection. You or your doctor can then ship the sample to the RELIGEN lab for processing

Benefits of the Test
Early detection and treatment of FRAAs may improve neurodevelopmental outcomes in individuals with ASD.
Folate supplementation can reduce symptoms associated with folate deficiency, such as behavioral problems, seizures, and developmental regression.
Limitations of the Test
Not all individuals with ASD have FRAAs.
The presence of FRAAs alone does not guarantee a diagnosis of ASD.

I reached out to the institution, but unfortunately they informed me that they do not conduct FRAT testing.
