Hi Donna, I found that MiraLAX works well. A whole cap full mixed in any drink juice, or warm drink. It is tasteless and adds no texture. If it doesn’t work that day try 1&1/2 to 2 capfuls the next day.

I use it for acid reflux and it does help with constipation.

My son (17) has struggled with BM a lot. We have him on SFI Labs Vitaspectrum. It is geared towards ASD people and it has helped him regulate his bowels daily. It is a bit pricey. From reviews I have seen on Amazon, people agree with it as well. If you get it on Amazon, the pills are still good, but have a slight smell. I keep forgetting to order directly from the manufacturer, but will on the next one. Reviews say if you buy from them it does not have a smell. My wife places them in a ziplock with a tea bag and it absorbs the smell. Highly recommend these. Meant for all ages. They also have a powder lile Miralax. Hope this helps someone else.

We use drinking warm water first to see if the bowels move, then we reach for over the counter meds. We encourage daily water drinking as much as possible.
