I'm grateful that my son knows how to behave when we are in public. When he's was younger it was impossible to take him out. I'm also grateful for having good health because I really don't have anyone to take care of my son.

What are you grateful for about yourself, your child/family, and all of you together?

It's wonderful that you're finding motivation to do more lately! That kind of energy can make a real difference in daily life.

It sounds like your child brings joy through their enthusiasm for activities and outings, including something as simple as enjoying takeout together. Those moments of shared enjoyment are precious.

Having time together is something many parents treasure, even when health challenges make it harder to get out as much as you'd like. Your gratitude for what you do have, while acknowledging what you hope for, shows a balanced perspective.

Practicing gratitude, even for small things, can help lift your mood and bring some calm during stressful times. Some parents find it helpful to:

* Keep a gratitude journal noting three things that went well each day
* Take short breaks to reflect on positive moments
* Focus on your child's strengths and the connections you share

Many MyAutismTeam members share similar feelings about wishing for better health while appreciating the time they have together. You're not alone in balancing hope with gratitude for the present.
