Son doing much better but does have favourite which is stir fry broccoli. We do give him chicken and fish. But he is still skinny

My son loves everything I cook. The day program that he attends always compliment me on the lunch I send in. I make lamb chops / fish/ Lowmein/shrimp potatoes and corn and a whole lot of dishes that my son enjoys.

I started having guilty weeks which is just as it sounds. At the beginning of the week I ask my Lela what she wants and compromise depending on her behavior. I give her a list of our fave foods and for 4 days we eat those meals. The next week it's back to well balanced blah blah blah meals that I still keep as healthy and non boring as possible. Back when she had less variations of eating my concern was her eating enough. When that stabilized the extra introduction of varied foods was simply added to what she enjoys which is always her McDonald's special, Pasta, bread and or Ritz crackers. I remind myself to build on what is there not worry about what isn't...I'd go insane otherwise ๐Ÿ˜‚

My child has always been picky regarding food. When they were younger (now 17) they would get upset if we didn't make meals they enjoyed, even if they were given something they did like as an alternative. Thankfully that is no longer the case. They have opened up to some new foods but have also shied away from foods they had liked previously. A lot of the problems seem related to textures; they don't like different textures mixed. As with everything, its been a journey.
