Fan on and no air conditioner
Still having problems going to sleep
We leave AC on all night since my kid sleeps only when its super cold.... we are planning to get cooling bedsheets for him too.
I put my air-conditioning on and wrap up in a blanket. I get the best sleep of my life!!
A bit, yes. Being hydrated and taking a cool shower before bed have helped. I have the fan on a medium setting which has worked out for me on these especially warm nights for the last week or so. I hope you find relief soon!
Optimize Airflow & Room TemperatureCreate a cross-breeze: Open windows on opposite sides of your house or room, especially at night when the temperature drops, to pull the hot stagnant air out.The ice trick: Place a shallow bowl of ice or frozen water bottles in front of your desk or box fan. As the ice melts, the fan will circulate the chilled evaporated air, creating a mini "swamp cooler".Fan positioning: Set your window fan to blow air out of the room during the day to exhaust hot air, and reverse it at night to pull cooler air in
Cool Your Body Directly
Cool your pulse points: Rub ice cubes on your wrists, neck, ankles, and the insides of your elbows before getting into bed. Cooling these areas helps drop your core temperature quickly.Take a lukewarm shower: Skip the ice-cold shower, which can shock your system and cause your body to retain heat. Instead, take a lukewarm or slightly cool shower right before bed to drop your internal temperature. The frozen hot water bottle: Fill a standard hot water bottle with water and leave it in the freezer for a few hours, then use it in bed as an ice pack.
Bedding & Sleep Setup
Chill your sheets: Place your pillowcases or top sheet in a plastic bag and put them in the freezer for 15-20 minutes before heading to bed.Ditch the synthetics: Avoid polyester and thick down comforters, which trap body heat. Switch to breathable, moisture-wicking natural fabrics like 100% cotton, linen, or bamboo.Sleep lower: Heat rises, so if you are dealing with an unbearable upper floor, consider dragging a mattress or sleeping pad downstairs or to the basement for the night.
I like that you asked this question I have a recently discovered that we all sleep better when the air conditioner runs at night, although it can be a migraine triggering for me I have drastically seen the difference and all my kids that they sleep longer and better when the AC is running of course it probably be even better if we had an air purifier as they all have allergies were allergic to dust bunnies and mold which runs rampant at night. Thank goodness we live in a low rate electric apartment or we would be in deep trouble.
