That's a great question — vocational and continuing education programs like BOCES can be really valuable for young adults with autism!

One MyAutismTeam member shared an inspiring story about their son getting involved in a specialized skill area through structured programs. He was eventually being scouted by a major company's factory team — a huge win that also helped him open up socially. Research also backs this up. Around 60% of people with autism find successful employment after using vocational rehabilitation and job placement services. Key takeaways include:

- Starting job skill-building early makes a big difference
- Gradually transitioning from learning to working full-time helps
- Building a portfolio of completed work opens doors to new opportunities
- Seeking vocational services during high school helps with future planning

Programs like BOCES that offer hands-on, certificate-based training align really well with these approaches, giving structured pathways into real careers.
