Autism speaks does have an 800 line on their website. I haven't called in awhile but they used to have good info about local support groups and doctors.

Finding the right parent support group can make a huge difference β knowing others truly "get it" is incredibly comforting. Here are some great ways to find one:
- Online communities β These are flexible, available anytime, and can be a low-pressure first step if in-person feels overwhelming
- Local support groups β Search through your child's therapy office, hospital, or medical practice, as many offer on-site groups or referrals
- Social media β Searching local parenting or autism-specific groups can connect you with nearby families
- Your child's healthcare team β Therapists and doctors often know of community resources and can point you in the right direction
As one MyAutismTeam member put it, finding someone going through the same thing β even if the situation is a little different β is so helpful just to know you're not alone.
A word of caution: be mindful of groups or individuals online who promote unproven "cures" or quick fixes. Stick to communities focused on real shared experiences and practical support. When in doubt, check with your child's healthcare provider about any advice you come across.
