I am a nursing student as well as a mom to a 7yo boy with Asperger's. It also came about that both of our kids had difficulty coming out of anesthesia. With my son initial recovery times , which should normally be up to 30 minutes (before they allow parents to come… read more
Our 5 1/2 yr old son is on the spectrum and he's super bright, loves to do things, but his communication is verbally limited. Usually, his day is school and therapy...so we decided to consciously make an effort for more social play with others. We live in Lewisville ISD in TX. Looking to move to Frisco or Plano ISD if they provide better Autism related programs in schools? our son is in 3rd grade now.
How have you found the Autism or special Ed programs in these two ISDs?
How did you like it? Your children? Would you recommend it?

My 4 year old son should be starting kindergarten next fall. He is currently in a full-time ABA program. I would like to send him to an elementary school for kindergarten. Can any parents give me any recommendations for public elementary schools in Tampa FL area that have good programs in place for special needs/ autism? My son is nonverbal and is not full on potty trained ( he needs to be prompted to use the bathroom ).
I applied for Healthy Kids for my youngest and he was approved but only for the full pay plan with Sunshine through Medi-Kids. Does anyone have any experience with them and know if they cover ABA? Thank you!
