I recently attended a ladies event where I learned that essential oils can be targeted to treat behaviors in autism. Anyone already trying this or have any advice?
I was asked today if we would like to try some essential oils. One of my parents at my works sells these oils. As i research more and more it seems people have seen great results in veitvar and lavendar oils for sleep and focus. Has anyone ever used essential oils for help like this? Have you seen results? What kinds of oils would you suggest we try at home for a child with ASD with SPD?
What essential oils have you used with a 2yr child with autism & allergies? What was the effectiveness?
I see vetiver mentioned as good for autism and ADHD -- anyone with any experience?
A bit of lavender is totally calming my scaredy cat mild autistic 9 year old son, and I"m willing to pursue this, particularly after this study that showed some good results with essential oils https://www.apa.org/news/press/releases/2013/05...
I am reading some great things about how oils can help with tantrums and speech with autistic children. there are so many different options out there and I was looking for some advice or experience from everyone. My son is 4.5 years old.

I was wondering if anyone used essential oils and which ones were the best. Also how did you use the oils. Carter gets a little over stimulated after school and we thought with peppermint we could get him to relax and then use lavender at night.
I read somewhere that essential oils helps the ASD population. Do you have any to recommend for hyperactivity/impulsiveness? If so, how is it used?
@JillV can you add something?
