Autism Flash Cards?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son is learning how to speak and the ABA's do not have flashcards... Does anyone know of a good website where I can buy them or print them out?

A MyAutismTeam Member

Smethport flash cards are the best.

Big pictures and my kids liked going through them. It was one of the few things that my daughter really learned and remembered.

Any One Experiencing Feet And Ankle Issues?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Our son has flat feet and we have been at Disney, I know a crazy sadistic decision, and after walking he is complaining about his feet hurting. He has flat feet and he is being OCD about it so any options, suggestions are welcome. We are here at Disney all week.

My son had this issue when he was younger. We did custom orthodics for 3 yrs. It helped a lot.

My Sons Routine Has Changed Due To His Fathers Work Schedule Changing. He Has Never Had Majo
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Okay, so my husbands schedule has changed, which has changed my little boy. He has never ever really had behavioral issues, just a few minor meltdowns. However, since my husbands work schedule change, there have been more meltdowns and for the first time in his life (he is 10), two weeks ago at school he had to be restrained so that he wouldn't hurt himself. He was hitting himself in the head, hitting his head up against the walls, etc. Never, ever has he done this before. Can anyone give me… read more

Does Anyone Know Of A Good Salon To Take My Toddler With ASD To In The Mesa, AZ Area?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My 26 month old went to Cool Cuts once & he cried throughout the whole haircut. Since then I've been doing my best to cut his hair at home. It's starting to look funny because his ends are curly, lol. I really need to get him to a professional, but can't find anyplace. Hoping some moms in my area can give me advice based on where you take your kids. Thanks in advance.

A MyAutismTeam Member

I know this sounds silly, but I know tons of people that do this. If you call your local salons and ask them if they would be willing to make a housecall....also- the local/ surrounding towns of… read more

Suggestions On Miralax
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have my 3 year old on miralax taking 1/2 an adult dosage twice a day. She has been on this dosage for about two weeks. Yesturday she had an allergic reaction. Broke out in rash in her face that spread to her body. We have given her Benadryl as recommended by her pediatrician. I think miralax may have caused it. Tomorrow I'm taking her in to her pediatrician. She suffers from constapation since she got introduced to solids at 6 month old. Just looking for some feedback on any of this… read more

What is miralax? Is it something to help with constipation? I know our kids have limited diets but I'd start working on getting her gut healthy. Otherwise it will be a life long problem.

Medication
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was wondering if I should see a psychiatrist to prescribe my son medication...or do I see another doctor. His stimming has dramatically increased. I feel it causes the issues we are having with him.

Thank you for all the advice.

A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am at a loss. He is different since having his seizure in October. Some good, he peepees and poops independently now. However, he used to watch videos independently on the computer and he has totally stopped! I never thought I would have encourage my son to watch TV! He just sits there, usually doing nothing.
