What do you encourage for independent play. Be have drawing and puzzles down but can't seem to find anything else she'll take interest in. She's almost 3 and electronics are not an option at this time.
Musicial instruments is a thought. I'd love for her to learn to play something. :)
I just found out that my 19 month old has this variation (through a chromosome microarray). There seems to be more information related to 16p11.2 deletion over the duplication. Anyone else's child have this? Can I hear from your experiences? We are slated to see a geneticist in September. Thanks in advance!

Now that our son has been diagnosed with autism, the question on whether or not to have more kids has come up. We had always talked about havibg 2-3 kids but now we're not so sure. I would consider genetic counseling at a university for my wife and me before I would choose to have another child. My son's diagnosis has definitely made me think of this.
I have a 14 yo and she really doesn't have one true friend , kids are mean and don't understand, just wonder what anyone does in this circumstance
You can look for social clubs for autistic children in your area.
