Serenity
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Where does your serenity come from? Serenity for me comes when you trade expectations for acceptance. When you look at your journey and realize how much fulfillment you get from your loved ones and children that makes life worth grasping on and truly living.

A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello
My son is 5 years old with ASD. About two weeks ago he started having really bad seasonal allergies and so far we have tried Zyrtec and Flonase both with very limited positive help but mostly all negative side effects like aggression lethargic and just not acting like himself. So I wanted to know what everyone gives there kids or what have you tried and if and what has worked positively or negatively. Please and thank you.

How To Stop My 6yr Son From Grabbing His Genitals When Happy?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My 6yr old son when he gets excited/happy. He gets really happy by yelling and grabbing his genitals. I had him checked by the pediatrician and nothing is wrong. At home we will tell him "where do your hands go" right away he places his hands to his sides. Temporary only...and all over again he does it. It is difficult when in public people don't understand why? Dirty minds....and the… read more

Handwriting In Kindergarten
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son has been in a special needs integrated public school preschool for almost 2 full school years and is five. He's set to go to mainstream K next fall, with a full time para, OT, PT, and pragmatic speech (all continuing what he is doing now.) His fine motor skills are pretty severely delayed, and he has an extremely difficult time with handwriting. At our last P/T conference in February, the preschool teacher painted what I felt was a really grim picture of him being really "in trouble"… read more
