Anyone use DHA supplement? See any difference? Or how do I know what's the best supplement for brain and focus??
We used to give our son St. Barlenes. His multi vitamin has a smaller amount of DHA. Our son's Psychiatrist prescribed Vayarin. (I should double check spelling) It is a highly concentrated fish oil… read more
has anyone ever tried to treat autism with vitamin and/or supplements?

I was looking on amazon and I came across Behavior Balance supplement from autismcoach.com. I went on their website and they have protocol kits and the one for autism has liquid carnosine plus. I was interested in behavior balance because it has DMG, TMG, magnesium, B6, B12, and folic acid all in one. Has anyone tried it? Does it work? it's super expensive and I don't want to buy it without having some reassurance of it's validity. I also don't want to overdose my 2 year old with too many… read more

Does anyone recommend a certain multivitamin? I see a bunch of different vitamins that contains extra omega 3's, iron, etc. My daughter is a picky eater so i know she doesn't get all the nutrients she needs. She will only eat gummy vitamins. We have tried the flinstones kind but they seem a little bit too hard to chew. I will talk with her MD and see what he thinks but i thought i'd try here as well...thanks!
Thank you for the responses! I think i may give the Omega3 supplement a try. If she lets me give it to her.
We are SO LIMITED on what healthy foods Dylan can / will eat as we deal with the autism related food texture issues as well as the exacerbating complications that come with a severe peanut and egg allergy with sensitivity to dairy (causing an eczema like reaction). Any suggestions for tasty, healthy foods and recipes are most appreciated! We use an egg replacement product, dairy free brands like Daiya cheese, Silk dairy free milk products, and "Sun Butter" instead of peanut butter. Canned… read more

I recently noticed the multivitamin I have been giving my kids has red dye 40. I want to give my kids a better vitamin. In my research, I found out kids with ASD need certain vitamins and minerals to feel better. I would love some input on what some of you give, and I'd also like to know why iron and copper are contraindicated.
I know its a lot but with my calculations of minerals and vitamins it is very similar in cost. It is a great vitamin. My son has made improvements. Its hard to explain these improvements overall… read more

At my sons last visit to his neurologist we were told of an Omega 3 "supplement" but it's a prescription. Most insurance do not cover it so it can range from $40-$60. His neurologist says it is too help with behavioral issues and he has seen improvements with children who have decided to give this a try. Has anyone ever heard of this or has a child taking this? I would like to receive any positive or negative feedback to help make a decision is I want to go this route. I think my sons… read more
Just FYI, the Omega-3s derived from plant sources are not as effective as the ones taken from fish.
I have read that Dha and Epa are really good in helping develop or improve cognitive development in autistic kids. Has anyone give their child omega3 fish oils.
These studies saying give your child a combined dose of 2000-4000 m(dha & epa).
Also any other foods, drinks, supplements or activities that might help autistic child universally or your own experience of such things Thank you in advance
strangely enough, you body does actually need gluten. you should only try a Gluten free or GFCF or GFCFSF diet, or any of the other if your doctor recommend it. a good one is the GAPS diet. But yes… read more
