my son was diagnosed autistic but now within 6 mon he become add with dld
My daughter was given all kinds of labels and diagnosis before we landed on Asperger's, and what I learned along the way is that it's not as important what you call it, it's how you treat/deal with it (though the label becomes important for IEPs etc). All of the things you've described as a "new" diagnosis are all very much typical "symptoms" of ASD. You've got to see the big picture, too...all kids (and adults!) have days when they are more or less active for a huge variety of reasons. My advice is to continue making your observations & watching for triggers, but know that they will probably always ebb & flow, so put your energy into finding good therapists/practitioners who can help & support you & your son as he continues to grow & change every day.
I agree with LindaVa above I would try to take your child to a developmental peiatrican that is who finally go us n the rght track. If that isn't possible be sure that where you go is comfortable with your child'ss symptom's and possible diagnosis
You need an autism specialist...PDD-NOS means that he has the characteristics of autism ....not enough for maybe for an Autistic Disorder diagnosis in the DSM-IV-TM but has autism characteristics.Amed, please find a Dr. who knows about autism. He can be ADD= (attention deficit disorder)and also have autism. You need to look at the blood report, family history and the birth, etc. You need a specialist.
thank you very much curlygirl and i will do as your addvice
I agree label aren't important to parents however they can be crucial to correct IEP's. My Michael actually has ADD and asperger oh did I mention the anxiety maybe melting pot waiting to explode is a better dx lol but his meds really help I find this forum helpful also :)
