Our son has an extremely hard time trying to fall asleep, he is ASD and ADD. our developmental ped suggested that we try 3mg of melatonin a hour and and half before bed time. First question where can I find a liquid version and should we start that high?
For my 3 year old that is ASD I just get the regular melatonin and put it in yogurt for him. He doesn't mind it at all.
We found the liquid online, flavored. It never really seemed to help my son. We now use a sleepytime tea that helps. It is made with a combination of chamomile, catnip and valerian. We mix it with apple juice when brewing and ice it for him to drink before bed.
I got my liquid melatonin at Target Pharmacy behind the counter. It is manufactured by Natrol. My 9 year old son with Asperger's takes 5mg (1 tsp.) 30 minutes for bedtime. It works great!
JenniferB: Thank you for the information my 12 year old gets up very, very early in the morning 4:00 to be exact and will not go back to sleep until around 9 or 10 that night. I will definitely try to find this at Walmart and try it.
Well tonight I am going to be
the kind of woman
I'd want my daughter to be
I'm gonna love myself
more than anyone else
Believe in me
Even if you can't see
A stronger woman in me
